Co-op closing and London Road roadworks

I had a leaflet through my door today about the imminent A6 roadworks around the Co-op.

The Co-op's closing in August and reopening in October (presumably as an Asda) and phase 1 of the roadworks starts 'shortly'.

SMBC Yellow signs are up fot this on the A6. Road works starts on the A6, 2nd August.

They were doing something with the Hungry Buddha/Top Wok signage today. Wonder if that's staying or going?

Is the Co-op turning into an Asda then, or was that just a guess?

It is certainly going to be Asda or maybe Netto as they have been taken over recently by the Asda / Walmart group.

The travel agents are staying put but they dont know where abouts they will be placed within the store.
The Post Office is staying put but apparently only until October and then who knows!
Maybe if the restaurant upstairs goes they will revert back to a two storey shop like it was when it was Co-Op initially.

Co-op closes on 10th August. Staff are going for ASDA training ready for the re-opening.

Some stock clearance going on. Lots of cheap tinned tomatoes, tuna and HP sauce today!
